Takayuki Kiura

Takayuki Kiura graduated from the Faculty of Economics at Kyoto University and joined Mitsubishi Estate. After completing a Master's program in Real Estate at MIT, he joined the Chicago headquarters of Heitman — one of the leading U.S. real estate investment advisors — where he focused on U.S. REIT analysis. Upon returning to Japan, he established Heitman's Tokyo office as the firm's first presence in Asia and was appointed Managing Director. In this role, he covered institutional investors and pension funds across major Asian markets, including Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, and led the firm's Asian marketing efforts as Equity Partner. Following his departure in 2025, he founded BASE-K. He holds the ARES Master and MRICS designations.
Hiroaki Matsushima
松島 弘哲

Hiroaki Matsushima currently serves as a Visiting Researcher at Stanford University's US-Asia Technology Management Center. He has previously held B2B sales roles at IT system development and data processing companies, as well as at HENNGE, a SaaS security company, where he managed the full sales cycle from identifying client challenges to proposing solutions. His research focuses on PropTech (real estate technology) and strategic alliances within the Silicon Valley startup ecosystem. He graduated from the School of Political Science and Economics at Meiji University and studied abroad at the University of Georgia.
Jiro Yoshida

Dr. Jiro Yoshida is the Pasquarella Professor of Business at The Pennsylvania State University and Project Professor of Economics at the University of Tokyo. He concurrently serves as an Associate at Columbia Business School, an Affiliate at Stanford University, a Senior Fellow of the Ministry of Finance of Japan, and a Board Director of the International Real Estate Society and the Asian Real Estate Society. He has previously held visiting positions at MIT, UC Berkeley, Hitotsubashi University, and the Bank of Japan. His research spans real estate finance, macroeconomics, and asset pricing. He holds a B.Eng. from the University of Tokyo, an M.S. from MIT, and an M.S. and Ph.D. from UC Berkeley, where he studied as a Fulbright Scholar.
Chihiro Shimizu
清水 千弘

Dr. Chihiro Shimizu is a Professor at the Graduate School of Social Data Science, Hitotsubashi University. He concurrently serves as a Fellow at Recruit AI Research Lab and a Researcher at MIT, among other appointments. He has previously held positions at Reitaku University, Nihon University, and the University of Tokyo, and has served as Visiting Professor at the University of British Columbia, the National University of Singapore, and the University of Hong Kong. His research specializes in index theory, big data analytics, real estate economics, and sports data science. He holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Studies.
